Making Friends, Drinking tea.

So, our tea-to-day ratio has gone up to three cups of hot tea in one day. We have been to a Hindu temple now, and eaten chicken in a woman's house. I'm facing my fears day by day and its kinda exciting. I have been able to story with a girl we will call Katie, and met three other women our age who I might be able to share with this next weekend. Be thinking of them. They are really sweet.
I don't mean to be vague, I just am short on time and wanted to give a basic update and ways you can be lifting us up.

In a week, we will be going to a village to teach for a few days, and then back to the city for our last full week. After that, everyone will return to the main city, and we will be doing some touring and such as well as a meeting to talk about how our summer went. So although we have four more weeks, they are pretty busy and a lot is going to be happening.

So please remember that we would like to meet more people and build more relationships, learning and teaching in our last few weeks. We are also hoping for opportunities to share the hope we have. We are seeking open and searching hearts. So keep these things in your thoughts.

As a side note, I think I have bed-bugs in my bed. I keep having little bites on my feet and ankles. We put the mattress outside. And also, we had a great view of the city this morning from the rooftop. It was exciting to see how big this city really is.

There's a lot to do when I return home. Hoping everything falls into place. I'll have roughly two months before we leave for Japan. Lots of studying and preparing to do.

Miss you guys! Have a great week and be thinking of Casey and me. =)

Another Week Ahead.

It seems like time is going by quickly here. I cannot believe another week has gone by. It is Sunday Morning, 11:26 am as I write this. This past week has been difficult, rewarding, and a true blessing.

I have finally come to the point where I realize I can eat food here and not be sick. I am getting used to the power outages, the sounds of people at all hours day and night, and drinking 2 liters of water daily.

This past week, Casey and I met a woman we call Sarah, and Casey has had some amazing conversations with her. They are really connecting, and its awesome to hear how things are going. I have met many people, but most of the women I meet speak very little English, or are busy high school students who are unable to hang out. Today, I will try and go into some shops and meet more women, we will go grocery shopping, and go pick up our beautiful traditional clothes.

Lately, we have learned more stories, including a story of Creation to Church. It has been amazing to learn ways to share here. And I cannot wait to share these things in Japan and with my friends at home. So please lift us up in your thoughts, and that we can meet many people and learn many things, but also that we can be teachers here. We are still looking for a Home of Peace. So think of that as well.

Thank you for all your support. We miss you guys and are enjoying life here. I will try to update more often, especially if anything exciting happens.

My First Week.

Well, orientation is over, and I am settled in my new "home" for the next six weeks. Casey and I are living in a flat, where we can hear every sound of our community throughout the day. The birds sound like monkeys, there are bells and drums at all hours, and the sound of chatter all around.

Casey is sick, so pray she gets better. She is not feeling so great. Got her some medicine today.

We have met a friend named Leena. She is sweet. Thursday, we went to her house to have tea and a lunch. There was a lot of food, but it was really good. We shared our story with her, and she was happy to hear it, but very strong in her belief that all roads will lead to the one god. The difference is, her road is laiden with rituals and hopes that it will be enough. Mine has a relationship with the Creator, where I don't have to worry about the future. So keep her in your thoughts.

Today, I met a woman named Yeshi. She is sweet. I didn't get her contact info, but I hope to see her again. I talked to many people today, it was a good day. Now, I will stay home and take care of Casey, hoping she feels better.

So, miss you all. I will try to update again later. Food is good, people are sweet, and in general, everything is going well.

[Welcome to South Asia.]

Welcome to the Blog, where you can find stories, information, prayer requests, and photos from mine and Casey's trip to South Asia this summer.

We will be spending seven weeks working with a project called "Women of Worth". We will be meeeting women, making friends and sharing the Hope we have in Jesus with them. It will be an exciting trip and I cannot wait to see what God will do.

So please be praying for us. Casey is an amazing partner, and we both are bringing our travel companions!

(Terrence and Petey!)

So please keep us in your prayers and check back often for updates!
